End-Stage Renal Failure Alternatives

When your GFR/eGFR decreases to below 15, it is end-stage Renal Failure stage, or stage 5 Renal Failure.
When chronic kidney disease develops into end-stage renal failure, patients may need to start dialysis or considering about kidney transplant.
In end-stage renal failure, the kidneys are severely damaged. After the damages happen, it is not easy for them to get repaired within one or two months by some oral medicines which can only relieve the symptoms the patients have, like high blood pressure, anemia etc. This is because the kidneys are composed of millions of nephrons. When the kidneys are damaged, actually it means that functional cells of nephrons are damaged or sclerosed, necrosis. If these functioning nephrons can't be repaired, or the kidney function can't be improved, the symptoms will exist all the time. And if the causes of the disease is not managed, the kidney damage will continue to deteriorate.
Under this disease condition, is there any other alternatives for end-stage renal failure except dialysis or kidney transplant? That depends.
If the patients just start dialysis less than half a year, and no severe complications, with normal urine volume, there is still possibility for them to get rid of dialysis. The recommended treatments are the systematic procedures, western medicines to control the symptoms, Chinese medicines to have a long effect, and Immunotherapy to improve the kidney function.
While if the patients have had dialysis for a long time, and no urine comes out, that means the kidney have lost the function completely, it is hard to revive the nephrons and let them function again. So the patients may face kidney transplant.
