A Brief Introduction about Nephrotic Syndrome

Many kinds of diseases will make the renal tissues get diseased and bring Nephrotic Syndrome to people. The pathology of this disease is very complicated and it belongs to a common autoimmune disease. Now let’s get to know something about Nephrotic Syndrome.
Nephrotic Syndrome is group of clinical syndrome with many causes including Chronic Nephritis. Its main clinical manifestations are massive proteinuria, severe edema, Hypoproteinemia and Hyperlipidemia.
The pathological mechanism of Nephrotic Syndrome:
The function of glomerular filtration membrane is damaged and more protein leaks out and forms proteinuria; massive protein is lost by urine and serum protein decreases, which can change the balance of liquid exchange between capillaries and tissues; then, water and sodium deposit at tissue space and cause edema. The decrease of effective blood volume makes the excretion of renin, angiotensin and aldosterone increase, thus leading to the retention of water and sodium. In addition, the decline of glomerular filtration rate due to decreased renal blood volume can also promote the occurrence of edema.
The clinical manifestations of Nephrotic Syndrome:
The main clinical manifestations are massive and enduring proteinuria, edema, Hyperlipidemia, etc. If patients’ blood volume is insufficient, hematuria and urea nitrogen always rise slightly, which is caused by that glomerular filtration rate decreases while glomerular reabsorption keeps normal. Renal Syndrome commonly occurs in children, and the symptoms are not obvious in the early stage and in the late phase, the symptoms are reflected as: hydrops in eyelid and visceral serous cavity, such as pleural effusion and ascites; patients with severe edema, their skin will become thin and transparent and may seep liquid if there is wound. The edema will affect blood circulation and worsen local immunity, which can easily cause infections.
Experts say that although primary kidney diseases and secondary ones have similar clinical manifestations of Nephrotic Syndrome, the pathogenesis and relevant treatments are rather different. So the identification on them is necessary and important

The above is a brief introduction about Nephrotic Syndrome. We hope that people can gain more knowing about this disease and take effective prevention measures.
